These large copper earrings feature handcrafted copper shields with a rustic, organic hammered texture accented with earthy, natural African turquoise stones. Big and bold, they have an ethnic tribal vibe and will make a striking statement.
MEASUREMENTS: Total length: 3” from top of ear wires and 1" at widest point. They are shown with copper ear wires, but if you prefer niobium (hypoallergenic) ear wires - chose that option at checkout. The total length will be slightly shorter with niobium wires. I hand sawed the shields out of solid copper sheet; hammered the metal for an organic rustic texture; then oxidized, buffed and polished it to enhance the detail. The metal is sealed with jeweler's wax to resist tarnishing. Earrings are signed on the back with my initials.
✤ Although commonly known as African turquoise, this stone is a type of jasper found in Africa with a matrix structure and colors similar to turquoise.
